ELECBRAKES PRODUCT WARRANTY
At Elecbrakes, our products are built to last, and if something goes wrong, we’ll make it right.
All Elecbrakes products purchased in Australia and New Zealand come with the consumer guarantees that apply under law.
In Australia, these guarantees mean you’re entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if your product has a major issue, and to have your product repaired or replaced if the issue is minor. You’re also entitled to compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage resulting from a product failure.
In New Zealand, our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded except as provided by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. If our product doesn’t meet those guarantees, you’re entitled to have it repaired, replaced, or refunded, and to seek compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
In addition to these consumer protections, every Elecbrakes product is backed by our Product Warranty, which provides extra support and peace of mind from our Australian-based support team.
STANDARD WARRANTY
Elecbrakes Pty Ltd (“Elecbrakes”) warrants that all Elecbrakes products are free from defects in materials and workmanship for two (2) years from the original date of purchase (Warranty Period).
During this period, Elecbrakes will, at our discretion, repair or replace any product found to be defective under normal use and service (as described in Elecbrakes product and technical documentation).
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser for products purchased from Elecbrakes or our authorised resellers, and is for the benefit of end consumers only. It does not apply to products purchased for resale.
This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under Australian and New Zealand consumer law.
HOW TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM
If you believe your Elecbrakes product is faulty, contact our Customer Support team on 1300 516 248 or info@ elecbrakes.com during the Warranty Period, with:
- Your proof of purchase (receipt, invoice or order number) showing the date and location of purchase.
- Your name and contact information.
- A description of the fault or defect.
- Photos or videos showing the issue or installation. (if applicable).
Our team will first troubleshoot any setup or installation issues. If the fault can’t be resolved remotely, we’ll assess the claim and may provide you with instructions to return the product for further testing.
IF WE FIND A FAULT OR DEFECT
If we inspect your product during the Warranty Period and confirm that it has a defect covered by this Warranty, we’ll take care of it. Depending on what’s most suitable, we’ll:
- Repair the product
- Replace it with a new or equivalent refurbished product, or
- Refund the original purchase price.
Sometimes refurbished parts may be used for repairs, and in some cases a refurbished product may be provided as a replacement. Any repaired or replaced product will continue to be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period – the repair or replacement doesn’t restart or extend that period.
Once we’ve replaced or repaired a product, the original returned item (and any parts replaced) will become the property of Elecbrakes.
If, after testing, we determine that the returned product is in proper working order, you will not be eligible for a replacement or refund and the original product will be returned to you. Our Customer Support Team will remain available to assist with correct installation and set up in these cases.
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
This Product Warranty does not cover:
- Damage or defects caused by incorrect installation, misuse, neglect, or accidents.
- Products showing evidence of modification or alteration, disassembly or unauthorised repairs.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Incorrect installation, operation, maintenance, or failure to follow product documentation.
- Corrosion or water damage to the connector pins/terminals, resulting from the adaptor being unplugged or exposed to weather or environmental conditions for extended periods of time.
- Damage from improper towing setup, electrical faults, or use of non-Elecbrakes accessories or components, including incorrect vehicle or trailer wiring, unapproved adaptors or harnesses, or incompatible aftermarket electrical systems.
- Products returned without proof of purchase or outside the Warranty Period.
FOR RESELLERS AND INSTALLERS
Authorised resellers and installers play an important role in supporting our customers. If a customer presents with a potential warranty claim;
- Conduct a basic assessment by referring to our Help Centre ( check installation, visible damage, firmware version, etc.).
- If unresolved, contact Elecbrakes Customer Support on 1300 516 248.
- Follow the guidance provided for troubleshooting, return or replacement.
Resellers should maintain clear documentation for all claims to ensure prompt resolution.
TRANSFERABILITY
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser of the product.
ADDITIONAL TERMS
This Product Warranty can’t be changed or extended by anyone other than Elecbrakes. That means our employees, resellers, or distributors aren’t able to make additional promises or alter the terms of this warranty.
If any part of this warranty is found to be invalid or can’t be enforced, that part will be read down or removed where necessary – the rest of the warranty will continue to apply.
Elecbrakes will always do its best to meet its obligations under this warranty. However, it can’t be held responsible for any delays or failures caused by circumstances outside of its reasonable control (i.e. force majeure, supply chain interruptions, or transport delays).
