If you’re a beer lover, check out the Coastal Brewing Company. This craft brewery is just south of Forster, with a 1,200-litre brewhouse and a tasting room to try all their delicious creations. The tasting room is open from Wednesday to Sunday.

Amaroo Dolphin and Whale Watching Cruises

From May to November, you can explore the Amaroo dolphin and whale watching cruises as the humpback whales begin their long migration from the Antarctic to the tropical waters to breed. Amaroo Cruises offer boat tours where visitors can try spotting whales.

The humpback whales weigh 30 tonnes but are remarkably athletic. You will also discover a pod of bottlenose dolphins. Take your binoculars and camera to see Forster’s dolphins and whales.

The Big Buzz Fun Park is a family-friendly tourist attraction covering 25 acres. It’s perfect for all the family with a toboggan run, open water slides, jumbo slide, toddlers slide, kamikaze slide, swimming pool, beach volleyball, a golf course, and more. Children under two can go free.

The park is a fifteen-minute drive from Forster and Tuncurry, making it an ideal day trip to keep the kids entertained. Plus, they have several under-sheltered BBQ areas to make the day complete.

Scuba Diving

If you’re keen on a bit of adventure, head to Dive Forster or the Forster Dive Centre to learn how to dive. These accredited divers will teach first-time divers how to dive, swim with dolphins, or even swim with a grey nurse shark. After all, Forster earned its diving reputation from the grey nurse shark aggregation sites off the coast – perfect for wildlife dives.
