Solid-State Architecture
Inside the shell sits a rigid printed circuit board — not a wire harness. Every signal path is laid out as a copper trace on a single board, eliminating the conventional joints, terminations, and crimps that age and corrode in service.
Overmoulded TPU Body
Thermoplastic urethane is poured around the electronics in a single continuous shot, with glass-fibre-reinforced carriers locked into either end. The result is a seamless body — no gaskets, no covers, no entry points for water, dust, or vibration.
Validated In The Lab
Every design choice is hardened in the lab — salt-water immersion, UV exposure, sustained vibration, high-current cycling and thermal stress. The bar we hold ourselves to sits well above what the relevant Australian standards require.
Smart Electrical Isolation
The service brake circuit is deliberately interrupted on the vehicle side of every elecConnect™. A tow vehicle with a factory-fitted brake controller can be used with a trailer already running an Elecbrakes unit, with zero risk of two systems fighting each other.
Beyond The Standard
In Elecbrakes' own bench testing, most commercially available trailer sockets failed to hit the plug-retention force called for by the relevant Australian standard. The elecConnect socket clears it — through dimensional fit, not the retention flap the rest of the industry relies on.
